Samppalinnanpuisto park is located on one of Turku’s seven hills. The park is known for offering a great view over the surrounding area and for the Samppalinna Outdoor Swimming Stadium.

Samppalinnanpuisto park is the second oldest hill park in Turku. The park is known for offering a great view over the surrounding area and for Restaurant Samppalinna and the Samppalinna Outdoor Swimming Stadium.

The area has a long history, and that history can be seen in both the Olavinpuisto park and the steps called Mustainveljesten portaat (“Black brothers’ steps”): In the 13th century, a Dominican monastery dedicated to St. Olaf was founded in a location close to the steps, and the monks, who were dressed in black, would often use the steps to get to the monastery.

The green field of Samppalinnanpuisto park is also suitable for large events such as festivals and other outdoor events.
