The City of Turku has two main communication and marketing channels: the communication channels of the City of Turku and Visit Turku, the city's tourist office. The City of Turku's communications are mainly aimed at Turku residents and those living in the Turku region, and Visit Turku's communications are aimed at domestic and international visitors arriving in the city.

Temporary Traffic Arrangements
Temporary traffic arrangements are needed if traffic has to be restricted. All temporary traffic arrangements must be reported to the Turku Urban Transport Center by submitting a notification on temporary traffic arrangements.
Well-implemented security arrangements contribute to the smooth and uninterrupted operation of an event. The organiser is responsible for the safety of the event.
Event security is covered by many laws and recommendations. When assessing the risks, the target audience of the event, the number of participants, the time, the location and other event specific factors, such as the use of special effects, must be taken into account.
When organising an event, you usually need many kinds of structures and furniture. The City of Turku has a selection of furniture suitable for event usage that event organisers can rent out. In addition, there are many independent actors in the Turku area that for example rent stage structures and audio equipment.
All outdoor events require a permit from the landowner or, if the venue is on city property rented from the city, from the tenant.
Parks, streets, and marketplaces
If the event takes place in a public venue owned by the city, such as a park, a permit application should be submitted to the agency in charge of urban environment. It is recommended to apply for the permits as early as possible since the handling period of the applications if approximately 4 weeks.

There are many things to consider when organising an event. One aspect is applying for permits and notifications for a number of different purposes. The number of permits needed to organise an event depends on its size and nature. Typically, a land use permit and a notification to the police will do for smaller events, while larger events may require temporary diversion of traffic, a notificaition of noise and a food sales licence.

The Event Services of the City of Turku is a part of the Central Administration of Turku. The aim is to support event and congress organisers in the Turku Region. Assistance is offered, for example, with venue reservations, permit applications and marketing implementation.

All our service are free of charge.
Turku Supplement for Employers is meant to support the intermediate labour market as well as help the long-term unemployed to find employment from the open markets. The supplement is paid to the employer and it is meant to be used for the costs caused by the employment.
Turku Supplement can be applied for by employers who hire a person who has been unemployed and received labour market subsidy for over 300 days. The working hours of the employed person must be at least 25h/week.
The Employment Services Centre organizes job seeking services for the unemployed where a job spotter helps the customer with finding a suitable job.
The job spotter is an expert on employment who has knowledge about employers of different fields and their possibilities to offer work, about seeking hidden jobs, and has direct contacts to employers.
Vamos Turku is a service produced by Helsinki Deaconess Institute. It offers support in the form of individual and group training for 12–19-year olds.
The training supports the growth and well-being of the youth both at home, in school, and during free time. We can help with matters related to the youth’s school attendance, coping, becoming independent, social relationships, or free time. The training is walking with the youth and supporting him/her through the changes. The training is based on the youth’s own goals, wishes, and needs.

In NuortenTurku you can search for information by yourself or with help from an employee. During opening hours you can visit either with or without an appointment. You can also send your questions via e-mail, Facebook, WhatsApp, or call us by phone.

Available premises of City of Turku may now be applied for with an online application form. Private persons, businesses, organizations and the city’s internal actors may all apply for the premises with the same online form.
Only premises owned by City of Turku may be applied for with the online form. The number of premises available is limited, and the shortest possible term of lease is one month. The application is valid for two months from the day it was sent, after which it will be deleted from the database. The renting abides by the law on renting office premises.
The charming Makasiini buildings are historical storehouses located at the atmospheric Luostarin välikatu. They offer recently renovated facilities for seasonal sales. Especially all summer events at the Old Great Square and the Riverside, as well as the Christmas Market on the old Great Square are high season.
