Turku`s common Cultural Promise: A Time of Art and Culture! is a strategic and visionary outlook for the development of culture in Turku until 2029. The cultural promise serves as the basis for a Cultural spearhead project.
Präkäämö – Young people`s own art workshop
Präkäämö is a handicraft workshop for 10–18-year-olds, where you can carry out your own ideas through changing themes.
A youth card is required to participate in Präkäämö.
Activities with the youth card are free of charge. Some supplies have a small material fee.
A free youth card can be obtained from the 1st floor service point.
As a service of the City of Turku and due to stricter covid-19- restrictions we oblige everyone over the age of 12 to use the mask.
Turku recreational model groups in Vimma
Vimma is involved in a national project aimed at supporting equal recreational opportunities for primary and secondary school students.
Groups are completely free of charge and will continue to operate during the spring season. You can register to the groups, if there is enough room.
The groups are for children and young people in Turku.
Recreational groups serve a small snack.
All groups are for beginners, no prior knowledge of the topics is required.
Would you like to organize events? Ta&To, as friends call it, young people’s event and activities team, needs new members.
Once a week, Ta&To, which meets on Wednesdays, plans and implements the program for the Sunday in Vimma. The Sunday in Vimma, which is held once a month, has seen film performances, concerts, game days as well as handicrafts.

Sunday in Vimma invites you to spend a relaxed Sunday doing art and things together.
At the Event of the Day, which takes place once a month, the agenda includes art workshops and a changing program organized by young people with their own event and activity team, i.e., Ta & to.

Affordable exercise all season long with a single load!
The affordable Student Wristband is intended for students in upper secondary education (general upper secondary schools and vocational schools) and higher education institutions. The wristband encourages the user to exercise when it best suits their schedule. The Student Wristband is valid for six months from the date of purchase, and the user can use it once a day to access a sporting facility of their choice. The right to purchase the product requires a valid student card or certificate to be presented.
The Accompaniment Card makes it easier for a person with a disability or a chronic disease to exercise and experience culture. The card entitles one person to free admission to accompany or assist the card holder.

For a long time, Ruissalo was used for pasture. People began cutting down groves in the 1540s to cultivate fields. Around the same time, Ruissalo came under the rule of Turku Castle, and its crops were used for the castle’s needs. In the 1550s Ruissalo became the hunting grounds for the Duke of Finland.

With the Kimmoke Wristband, you get access to the city’s public swimming pools and gyms from Monday to Friday until 3:30 p.m. and all day during weekends.

Are you looking for a perfect way to start moving? The Sports Service Center offers adults an easy way to get started.
The City of Turku maintains over 50 km of ski tracks in total on jogging trails. When there is little snow, only the Nunnavuori ski track and its additional loops will be maintained with snow cannons and transferred snow.
Information about the conditions of ski tracks in Turku can be found on the Latuinfo website in Finnish. The site has a table that is updated daily during the skiing season.
Skiing equipment can be rented from the Impivaara ski rental service.
Rules at Park Field Artificial Ice Rink (Parkki field)
- Do not leave any valuables in the shelters. We take no responsibility for them.
- It is forbidden to go onto the ice with shoes because they bring rocks on the ice.
- Going on the ice forbidden during the maintenance and freezing times: 3.45-4.45 pm

The work Kimono by Karin Widnäs (b. 1946) was revealed on the opening day of the Turku Capital of Culture year on 15 January 2011. The work is formed of special bricks shaped like Japanese kimonos, built in a wastewater treatment station pipe. The mould of the bricks has been prepared on the basis of the artist’s plaster mould at the ceramics factory of IDO.
